I Blame it on the Snow

This weekend was very uneventful and its all to blame on one thing.

I am obsessed with House of Cards!

You know those shows you start watching and just can’t stop until you have seen every episode? This is how I feel about House of Cards at the moment. I love when I find shows like this, even if it does hurt my productivity level but when it is cold and snowy outside what more is there to do!

I have fallen victim to several TV series that I binge watch until there is nothing more. Some of my favorite shows that have sucked me in are:

Friday Night Lights

Tim Riggins, need I say more! But really I love this show and was so sad when it was over. I have fond memories of wasting my 8 hour layovers on my first trip to Iceland by watching FNL and being perfectly fine with having to wait for my flight.

Modern Family

This show never fails to make me laugh! I didn’t start watching it until season 3 and H and I watched those first few seasons non stop once we found them. I am pretty sure Cam and Phil need to come hang out in Iceland, they crack me up.

Homeland

I watched the first two seasons like there was no tomorrow but have found myself not so interested in starting season 3. Anyone else a Homeland fan? What are your thoughts on season 3?

New Girl

I got hooked on New Girl last spring when I came home from a trip to Iceland. I was having my own pity party during my first weekend back (goodbyes are the worst) and watched the first two seasons non-stop. I was so bummed when I had finished the episodes, how was I going to laugh without Schmidt?! Somehow I survived but I now enjoy getting caught up on mini marathons of season 3.

Scandal

Any show with a tough leading woman who has a love for wine has my heart! This is one of my favorite shows and I count down to Thursday night all week! Team Gladiator all the way.

Orange is the New Black

I have mentioned my obsession with this show before and now that it is getting closer to season 2 being released I can’t wait to start watching it again!

Please tell me I am not the only one that can spend a weekend binge watching a TV series?

Oh well, #sorrynotsorry it was a great way to spend my weekend. Now that I am all caught up with House of Cards I am already looking for another show to get hooked on. Any suggestions?

    I am semi-ashamed to admit this but I am super hooked on Pretty Little Liars. I know it’s for teenagers, I know the story is so full of plot-holes at this point that it doesn’t make any sense anymore, and I know that the acting is pretty awful, but I just cannot. stop. watching. They just wrpaped up season 4 and I’m already so excited for the next!
    Also: My Kitchen Rules. It’s a cooking competition in Australia, which doesn’t sound like it should be addictive, but it SO IS. My boyfriend and I binge-watch that show like nothing else!! Plus we learn new techniques!

      I haven’t watched PLL yet but its pretty popular here actually. I love cooking competition shows. They were actually showing an Australian junior cooking show with kids competing was really interesting!

    New Girl, The Mindy Project, House of cards, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones. thank goodness they aren’t all on at once because that is a LOT of tv. I also watch “Girls” but then I hate myself a little bit afterwards, every single time. x

      H is a huge American Horror Story fan, I watched one episode but it freaked me out so I haven’t given it another shot. Now Game of Thrones I am hooked on, I read the book series and I love watching the show.

    I signed up for Netflix this weekend and it was a pretty bad idea…..because instead of doing useful things like… studying….all I did was watching “Orange is the new Black” and I’m obsessed with it!! Only three more episodes to go and I’m done with Season 1. Didn’t even know there will be a second season…. I only got to know the show 2 or 3 weeks ago when Piper Kerman was in a Swedish talkshow but I knew it would be a great show immediately…..and it IS!!

    My boyfriend keeps telling me to give FNL a try (he really likes it!) so maybe I will after reading this post! I also really liked season 1 and 2 of Homeland but I’m not sure about season three since… Well.. Everything that happened (Yay! I managed to not spoil anything). Other series I love; True blood (I’m from Sweden and I have to support Alexander Skarsgård), Dexter (well, it’s over now but I did spend weekends.. and weeks… with this show. I did season 1-8 in like 1,5 month) and Girls (I warmly recommend).

      I love FNL, you should give it a try! I think I will eventually give season 3 of Homeland a try I have to find out whats happening.

    I looooove House of Cards, and as much as I wanted to binge watch both seasons, my husband reined me in and we’ve been watching one episode per night. Ahh but tonight I’m on the season finale of season 2! Then I’ll probably revert to my guilty pleasure, Pretty Little Liars

    Good picks! I don’t have much time for tv these days so I have to choose my regular viewing careful. In between episodes of Jake & The Neverland Pirates and Peppa Pig, I managed to get hooked on Suits. Um, have you seen Harvey (the main character?!)….puts McDreamy to shame.

    And now for my shameful confession…reruns of One Tree Hill. There I said it!

    we were just saying last night that it’s so great that we get good shows during the months that you just want to hang out inside and veg on the couch. stinks for the southern hemisphere who get the good shows when they have pretty weather!

    I am also obsessed with House of Cards. This weekend my allergies attacked hard and left me somewhat incapacitated, which meant a weekend of just me and Netflix. I’m in the middle of the second season right now. It’s so good, right?!

    Jan and I are currently watching our way through season 2 of Farscape while waiting for season 7 of Big Bang Theory to come out. I also bought him the Fawlty Towers box set for his birthday, so that’s our next project.

    Today I was watching ER in German… they seem to repeat it non-stop on one of the channels!

      I have only seen a few episodes of Big Bang Theory but its so popular back at home. I get my fair share of Danish soap operas on our tv, they are not my favorite lol.

    i binge watched scandal as well! love that show.

    other shows that i bingewatched: the shield, 24, true blood, vampire diaries, sons of anarchy and breaking bad. such great shows!

      I think 24 and True Blood need to be added to my watch list now. This is the second time I started watching House of Cards, the first time I wasn’t into it but now I am hooked.

    So many great shows I need to get on to! I have hardly watched any TV in the last five months of travelling but orange is the new black and house of cards are on my must-watch list when I get home! I’m a major homeland fan - season 3 is a little slow in the beginning but omg so worth watching! Half way through the season, its excitement on a whole new level!

      When your back home and recovering from all your fun travels you will have lots of good shows to catch up on! I am going to have to give season 3 a try, I loved the first two seasons so I have to know whats going on.

    I watched the two seasons of house of cards, but to be honest I never really got into it! I’d just put it on when I was doing things. Love Orange is the new black though! I don’t know what you’ve seen but I watched all of Heroes last year and it’s awesome.

      I have shows like that too, I like having something on in the background so I may watch a season but not really watch it. I forgot all about Heroes, my friends were all hooked on that show I will have to check it out!

    I can definitely binge watch when the weather is terrible. I watched the first two seasons of suits on netflix, I really enjoyed it. It’s a drama but it’s not as heavy as HoC or a Breaking Bad.

    Haha I can relate! I binge-watch ALL THE TIME. Modern Family is definitely one of my favorites, as well as Scandal! I’ll have to give House of Cards a try :). My current favorites are 30 Rock and Parks & Recreation, as well as Game of Thrones!
