These past few weeks back home with my family have been AMAZING. I am loving every minute of quality time with those I love. I will be back to my regular blogging schedule next week but for now I wanted here is a short recap of the Vikings first American Christmas!
Our Christmas kicked off on Christmas Eve with a dinner and white elephant gift exchange with my Dad’s side of the family. H had been really curious about the whole white elephant gift exchange and once he learned the rules he took no time getting into it. A group of 30 very competitive people participating in a white elephant gift exchange makes for one entertaining night!
When we returned home from our dinner it was time H to get his first Christmas pjs and to curl up by the fire and read a Christmas story together. Us girls always get matching pjs and this years pjs are seriously the most comfortable ones ever, I never want to take them off.
The boys got matching pjs as well which they found quite amusing.

With everyone in their new pjs we settled in by the fire for our Christmas story.

Azora clearly thought it was bed time.
Christmas morning I woke up so excited for H to open his first Christmas stocking. The verdict, he loved it!

And Azora loved her Christmas stocking just as much!
After opening our stockings it was time for breakfast and the much anticipated gin fizz for H. Taking from the fact that several refills were had I think he was a fan!

The rest of our Christmas day was spent opening gifts, cooking, playing board games, eating an amazing meal and enjoying our time with each other. It was the perfect Christmas!

My Grandma loved her Icelandic scarf and she sure looks good in it!

The boys and there toys. Wonder who bought them sling shots…Dad???
I am a sucker for a fluffy blanket!

My favorite gift of all, H made me a long distance love map with our two home countries and Australia, the place it all began. I can’t wait to hang it up in our flat!
H finally found someone interested in playing Chess, thank goodness because I do not understand the game!

This past Christmas was one for the books, such a special day and I am so happy I was able to be home to celebrate with my family.
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years. I am off to soak in as much family time as I can before we head back to Iceland later this week. See you all next year!
Question of the Day?
How was your Christmas?
