One Epic Easter Holiday

Hi Friends!

Happy Monday! We are back in Iceland enjoying our last day of Easter holiday, and what an amazing Easter holiday it has been!

From exploring the charming streets of Ljubljana to hiking around the Slovenian mountains, revisiting the canals of Amsterdam and an adventure back to an Icelandic waterfall it has been a week full of beautiful adventures!

Whenever I get back from a trip I have so many thoughts running through my head that I never know how to start recapping my trip. There are so many beautiful places to share, delicious food to talk about and stories to tell. Slovenia had me in awe the entire time!

While I wrap my mind around all the amazing things I have gotten to do in the past week for now here is a quick recap of some of my favorite moments from the trip.

My trip started with a long layover in Amsterdam. I loved getting to revisit the canals again, such a beautiful way to start off our trip!

After saying goodbye to Amsterdam we arrived in Ljubljana late at night, got scammed by our cab driver who charged us double the normal fare, and spent the entire next day in work meetings. But, it was all good, we were in Slovenia! And when day two arrived and my Viking made it to Slovenia it was finally time to explore the beautiful Ljubljana, and what a charming capital city it is!

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Fun co-workers make work trips that much better :)

Is Ljubljana just the most charming city or what?! By the end of our first day the Viking and I had defintely fallen for this beautiful city.

After spending a day exploring Ljubljana our group packed up early the next morning for a road trip to the coast town of Koper where we had our last work meeting of the trip. When I get to visit universities in such charming places it makes me want to become a student again and go study abroad!

The best part of our day trip to Koper, our visit to the amazing Postojna Cave on the way back to Ljubljana !

Ya, this place was amazing!

Slovenia got even more beautiful on our road trip to Lake Bled and a waterfall the next day.

Seriously guys, Slovenia is a must visit country!!

The rest of our trip was spent eating our way around Ljubljana, wandering down the canal enjoying drinks at cafes along the way, and laughing, lots of laughing.

This pretty well sums up my trip, me with food in hand laughing so much I can’t keep my eyes open, Slovenia was absolutely amazing!

More of the beautiful Slovenia to come. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday!

Question of the Day?

Over the weekend I learned that one of my great-grandfathers came to America from Cepno, Slovenia and now am looking for a reason to visit both his homeland, and Croatia, where his wife immigrated from when both countries were part of Yugoslavia.
