Merry Christmas and Gleðileg Jól from the Viking and I!

Christmas 2015

While I would love to be able to celebrate the holidays with my family (Merry Christmas to everyone back home!) I feel so lucky to have such an amazing family here in Iceland to celebrate with. The Viking and I plan to celebrate our Christmas holiday eating delicious food, enjoying time with family and lots of cozy time in our pjs watching movies and reading.

It is going to be a wonderful Christmas!

    Merry Christmas! My husband and I are spending Christmas in Reykjavik and I was wondering if you could tell me what the candles in the window are? We’ve been seeing them everywhere but I can’t seem to find what the mean :)

      The one I like is the Advent light, which consists of seven candles arranged in a triangle-shaped candelabra. Gayle and I have 2 in our house that we purchased in Iceland and are lit now (with power converter plug). We bought one at Brynja (hardware store at Laugavegur 29) and a nicer wood model at a funky home goods store (Thorsteinn Bergmann) on Skólavörðustígur.
