Oh Monday we meet again. This week though we will be friends for I have just 3 short days of work before I am off for a 5 day weekend. Maybe this week you will be nice and not pour down rain all day, that really doesn’t help my case of the Monday blues.
What does help fight off a case of the Monday’s? Some motivation to get our rear in gear and tackle the week!

I saw this photo over the weekend and I love everything about it. I want to have this photo hanging on my wall! It reminded me that even though it can be scary to step out in front you tend to have the best time while you are there!

Getting out of our comfort zone and pushing ourselves. This seems to be something we hear all too often. It is not easy at all to leave your comfort zone but the more I do it the more I am finding truth to this idea. Go big or go home!

This quote is awesome! Lately I have met a few people who haven’t been the most welcoming to me (or the fact that I don’t speak Icelandic). I let this really get to me and hurt my feelings. The more people I talked to about those “haters” though made me realize exactly what this quote is saying. I can’t win over the haters so I am just going to move on!

First off I had to include this quote just because I love the movie Up so much! Anyone else unable to watch that movie without tearing up or is it just me?
Back to the quote. One things life as an expat has taught me is it really is all about the little things. Opening up a bank account on my own, figuring out the bus system, grocery shopping, these little things feel like major successes in my life now. This past weekend a woman stopped me and asked me in Icelandic what the time was. I actually understood and was able to respond back in Icelandic. I felt like I had conquered the world! It really is the little things :)

Just some food for thought this Monday morning. If something is bringing you down do whatever is in your power to change it. This is something my parents always are reminding us kids to do. Nothing is worth being unhappy over. So get out there and change it, smile and get on with your week!
And remember…
