Be warned, this blog is going to be an explosion of fall colors until the snow comes and buries them. Fall colors I love you and can’t get enough of you!
Last week I finally got a taste of what fall in Iceland is like, and now I am hooked. If you read this post than you know how much I love this time of year, and you also know how my first fall in Iceland went. (If you didn’t read that post here is a summary, last fall did not go so well!) But this fall, it is already going so much better!
Thanks to my Oregon roots nothing makes me happier than spending an afternoon outside, especially when it is one of those “perfect fall days”, taking in the beautiful colors! What is a “perfect fall day” you may be thinking????
Perfect fall day: Those fall days where the weather is the right mix of sunshine with a bit of nip in the air, ideal for spending the day crunching leaves and taking in the changing colors.
With that definition in mind this past Saturday was definitely what I would call one of those perfect fall days.
There is something so magical about a sunny fall day don’t you think?
The changing colors seem that much more impressive, the air feels fresh and smells, well like fall, the leaves are crisp and crunchy, it all helps makes it a bit easier to say goodbye to summer when you have lovely fall days like that.
Do you see those colors?! Gosh they were beautiful!
This week is my two year expativersary, (yayyyy) which means I am celebrating all week long. I feel like Iceland was celebrating with me over the weekend, the beautiful weather more than made up for my not so lovely experience at Thingvellir last year. And you know what, I deserved it, I have dealt with too many stormy days ruining my adventures around Iceland, so thank you Icelandic weather gods for playing nice!
Since I am clearly obsessed with all things fall and the colors that come with it there will be lots more pictures of our adventure to Thingvellir to come.
And, exciting news, H got a new camera, so those fall colors, they got captured beautifully!

I spent our day at Thingvellir taking picture of H taking pictures. I mean why bother taking pictures myself when the Viking now has some fancypants camera that blows mine out of the water. Instead I focused my attention on my modeling skills, I think I nailed them.
I know what you are thinking, “girl if this whole blogging thing doesn’t work out you have a future as a model.” I know, thank you.
When I wasn’t too busy working on my next pose I spent the rest of my time making new friends. By the end of the day I had a new best friend, she is so funny, a bit hairy, and super cute.
Sunshine, beautiful fall colors and a new friend, I must say my weekend was quite successful! And, with my two year expativersary this week I think my weekend adventures were the perfect way to say goodbye to year number two in Iceland!
Question of the Day?
Have you ever had weather ruin your trip somewhere? Any places you have revisited in different weather and viewed the place differently? Where is your favorite place to take in the fall colors?
