Are you ready to meet the traveling couple behind Breathe With Us?! Welcome Hugo and Cristina!
1. When did you decide to start blogging / what inspired you to start blogging?
We decided to start blogging back in September 2014. Our travels had started to be more frequent and after seeing so many people blogging about travelling, we knew it was something we would like to try as well! It’s a great way to share a bit of something we really like to do. It also helped that we were travelling to places out of the normal tourist route.
2. You two are the ultimate traveling couple! Has travel always been an important part of your lives? Where was your first international trip to?
Thanks! Yes, indeed. We’ve been travelling a lot since we’ve been together. Our first international trip together was to Salamanca, a short one across the border from Portugal into Spain.
3. Every time I read your blog you guys have just been to some new amazing place. How do you decide which destination to visit next?
It is actually not that easy! We struggle to decided where to go next. Since we have limited time off we need to select destinations carefully, and because we kind of want to go everywhere, sometimes it’s a big headache. We’re facing this exact problem thinking where to go in 2016.
4. What resources do you use for inspiration of places to visit and things to do on your travels?
Bloggers are definitely an inspiration and so are other travel publications. Especially those who focus on nature and adventure travel.
5. Any travel traditions that you have to do on each trip?
We try to buy a magnet from every country we visit.
6. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone new to travel?
Travel! Just travel. There’s no right or wrong and the more you travel the more confident you’ll feel about it. There’s no better way to learn new things.
7. Currently you two are living in London. What is one thing you enjoy about living in London?
We moved to London for our current jobs. It’s a great city, with tons of things to see and do all the time. Our favourite thing has to be the cultural diversity of the city and its people.
8. You have traveled all over the place, what’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to and what is the next destination on your list?
Our favourite places are Iceland and New Zealand. We have no idea where to go next. Help! The only confirmed thing so far is Hugo going with a friend to Iceland in June.
9. Since you have been to Iceland before I have to ask, what was your favorite place you visited in Iceland?
This is a tough one. We really like Iceland! Can we say 3? Westman Islands, Fjallsárlón and Fjaðrárgljúfur.
10. Before you go what are three of your favorite posts that you think everyone needs to read!
Well, if someone is planning to go Iceland, then it has to be our ultimate travel travel guide.
For those that are curious about travelling to Cuba, we highlighted the good and the bad right after we got back.
And for winter time, we just wrote about our experience in San Marino, which happens to be one of the most picturesque places we’ve been recently!
