Two Reasons Why I am Loving Iceland This Week

Happy Friday everyone!

I wasn’t planning on blogging today but I just had to stop by real quick and share two stories that have been floating around the web this past week starring Iceland. These stories have just given me two more reasons to love Iceland!

Reason One| The Iceland Police Force Instagram Account

Good thing Iceland has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, otherwise I would be a bit concerned after seeing the Icelandic police force on Buzzfeed. With an Instagram account full of cops taking selfies, playing with puppies, and police officers jamming out while on patrol, I must say it made me so glad to live in a country where the police can have a little fun.

Thank you Buzzfeed for sharing how awesome this place I call home is. Gotta love Iceland!

Reason Two|Surprise Icelandair Stopover

This lucky woman was in for the surprise of a lifetime when she landed in Iceland, watch the video and try and tell me Iceland doesn’t look like a wonderful place to be!

As I head out the door to face the rain and wind storm on my bike ride to work I am going to try and keep these two awesome stories in my mind. Iceland, you are cold, but you are wonderful!

    First, I love that your police force has nothing to do!! I’ve found that police are a lot less scary on this side of the globe :) And wow, that video…..super cool. I wouldv’e chosen the hunky chef too haha!!

      I agree, the police are much more friendly. Haha I know right, how do I get to go on a tour of Iceland with a hunky chef ha.

    LOVE that instagram account, amazing. And secondly, after watching that video I have to say that the Icelandair and all of the tourism campaigns in Iceland (Iceland Naturally and Inspired by Iceland) are absolute tourism geniuses. Introducing the stop-over at no additional cost to promote more tourism is an inspired idea.
    I would love to visit Iceland again, it’s always in the back of my mind :) Happy Friday!

      Iceland tourism campaigns are really awesome I agree! The stop over at no additional cost is a brilliant idea. Those guys in the tourism companies know what they are doing!

      Isn’t that instagram account awesome! I had to following them, they post some of the best pictures. And yes, the Iceland tourism campaigns have been so awesome, they show Iceland in such a great way!

      I had never heard of the Instagram account until they shared it on Buzzfeed! So glad I found it I love all the cute pictures.

      The IG account is so great! Yes you need to get a long layover in Iceland next time so you can get some exploring in!

    I follow the Icelandic Police force on Instagram and love it ! My favorite was where the two officers were jamming out to an Aerosmith ballad. I didn’t know about the stopover program offered by Iceland Air. That is definitely good to know and keep in my travel book.

      I am so glad I recently found the Instagram account, I am loving it and that jam out session is pretty great! the stopover program offered by Icelandair is pretty awesome!

    That’s awesome!

    I think my favourite thing I have seen here was it was the bus drivers last day and they had decorated the bus for him with signs saying it was his last day. For the first time, the people getting on the bus actually spoke to the bus driver and it was all just pleasant. Belgian people are so friendly… that’s the best they’ve got.

      Awe that is so sweet. Our bus drivers are a bit scary but it sounds like the bus drivers in Belgian are much friendlier!

    First, yes to Icelandair! Second, those police officers look like the friendliest, funniest people you could meet. Seriously, kittens, fake mustaches, and ducks are all smile-worthy things. I think I need to check out Iceland.

    haha two amazing reasons to love Iceland for sure! That Icelandair video almost made me cry - the first time I flew to the UK I flew with Icelandair and I sooo wished I could have stopped there for a day or two! I’m not a fan of their airline, but I have to say the human face to face contact was amazing and man did I wish I had this chance to visit Iceland with a local guide! :D

      I am not a fan of their airline either, it is my only option at the moment to get home :( But I do love their marketing campaigns that video was awesome!
