And got the golden ticket with an entrance to the New York City Marathon!

Tuesday was the day, the day of the NYC marathon lottery, a day when 80,000 people cross their fingers hoping they are the lucky 18 percent that get to run one of the best marathons in America.
I will be honest, when I put in my application for the lottery I did not think I would get in. I mean over 80,000 people apply and only 18 percent get in!
I didn’t let my small chance of getting in stop me from dreaming of being one of the lucky runners chosen. I have had this day marked in my calendar for months, and I am pretty sure everyone around me knew about it based on the amount I have talked about it.
So on Tuesday I tried my best to go about my day and not jump every time my phone lit up, it was basically the longest day ever. By the time evening rolled around and I still hadn’t heard anything I was starting to get a bit anxious, I really wanted to get in!
A co-worker of H’s also had entered into the lottery and when he sent me a message around 10pm asking if I had heard anything he also informed me of the NYC marathon Facebook page. This basically opened a whole new can of worms and instead of obsessively checking my phone I spent way too long reading comment after comment about the lottery, seeing who was getting in and who wasn’t. Like way too long!
After obsessing over that and still not getting an email I submitted to defeat and crawled into bed. I woke up around 4am to go to the bathroom and again checked my phone with no message. So when my alarm went off at 6:30 I didn’t even look at my email until 15 minutes later, when I realized my credit card had been charged for the NYC marathon.
Umm what!
While I did my nervous dance around my kitchen I quickly went to my email and there it was, hidden in the spam folder, I had been accepted in one of the last rounds of the drawings. Way to make a girl wait!

And, the cherry on top, my family will most likely be joining me in NYC to cheer me on!
My first visit to New York, running my bucket list race, and having my family there to cheer me on, it is going to be the greatest day ever!
Lets do this NYC 2015!
Question of the day?
What is on your bucket list? Have you ever been to New York?
