Am I really sitting here writing another by the numbers recap of my past month? It seems like I just hit publish on my 16th month recap and here we are already at month number 17!
Month number 17 will be known as the month of chaos! Between a crazy busy work schedule, constant events (both work and fun), and lots of travel planning it has been one busy month! Adding to the chaos Iceland has been hit with winter storm after winter storm keeping me inside much more than I would like, and it is making me a tad crazy. I am hoping month 17 was the last month of winter weather, I am ready for Spring!
Let’s get to it and send off month 17 with the usual by the numbers recap shall we!
Three sunny spring like days
Maybe not quite warm enough for the beach just yet but I will take any sunshine I can get! After being hit with so many storms this winter people were outside celebrating the sunshine, I don’t think anyone wanted to go inside. We are all very much ready for Spring up here.
Several outfits ruined in snow storms
And the exact opposite of sunny days, snow storms was what most of this past month looked like. It was like the snow waited for me to step outside before it started dumping down. I swear, every time I put in an effort to get ready this past month it started snowing as soon as I walked outside. Clearly the weather wants me to stick to messy buns and sweat pants. Fine by me.
Four hours spent at a murder mystery dinner party
I have always wanted to attend a murder mystery party so when my office was planning what we should do for our department party I quickly nominated a murder mystery themed party (how many times can I say party in this sentence). It was a huge hit! Our department is already requesting we make it an annual event. Such a fun night, and H still has his Oscar proudly on display ha.
Twenty Six+ miles I will be running in the NYC marathon!
I figured a throwback picture of me and my favorite running buddy was in order here! A few weeks ago a bucket list dream came true. I was accepted to run in the New York City marathon this coming November. I still have a goofy grin on my face and can’t wait to run all over the big apple!
Thirty minutes walking through a snow covered forest

This little forest area is right next to my office making it the perfect place for a break outside. After a full day of working inside I needed to get outside and enjoy the sunshine, heels and all! Time with nature is always good therapy and with a lot on my plate this past month it was a much needed sunny break.
One afternoon spent at the Árbæjarsafn Open Air Museum

After hearing about this place for months, driving by it a few times, and even walking the paths around the museum, H and I finally visited Árbæjarsafn Open Air Museum, and I am already planning our next trip back! If you are ever visiting Iceland and looking for something to add to your itinerary I highly recommend a trip out to Árbær.
Three evening walks along the sea

With all of the storms this past month our outdoor adventures were very limited. When the weather did allow us to get outside we headed straight for the sea, my favorite place to walk. The plus side of the stormy weather, it made for some beautiful colors and scenery on our winter walks.
Four week trip to Oregon booked
After struggling for a few weeks trying to decide what I wanted to do this summer travel wise I am 100 percent sure that I made the right decision in deciding to go home and visit my family. Oregon is so beautiful in the summer and I can’t wait to have lots of quality relaxing time with my family. The week in Hawaii isn’t so bad either :)
One adorable new addition to my family in Oregon
That little bundle of cuteness curled up to Azora is my parents puppy Opal, and I am already in love! Azora is still figuring out what she thinks of Opal if you couldn’t tell by her face ha. I can’t wait to meet her this summer and get some puppy cuddles in with both little Opal and of course Azora.
Dozens of pictures taken of the Northern Lights

This month ended with a bang, a bright green bang that is! I mean wow, the show the Northern Lights put on St. Patrick’s day was unforgettable, I still am in awe over the pictures I captured!
Month 18 is shaping up to be just as busy as month 17. A trip to Amsterdam for Easter, Berlin the week after, several bank holidays, hello lots of vacation time! I am hoping to start visiting all those places I want to around Iceland on my list with are extra days off. So Month 18 please bring some warmer weather with you so I can make those adventures happen!
