While I didn’t get to join in on any Memorial day BBQ’s I did have a celebration of my own.
My birthday celebration!
A big thank you to everyone who sent lovely birthday wishes my way on Sunday! My birthday celebrations were wonderfully low key, exactly what I wanted after a busy few weeks.
While I don’t love the whole getting another year older thing that comes with birthdays, they are pretty awesome! All those birthday wishes remind you how loved you are and how many amazing people you have in your life. You get a boost of confidence from all that love you are getting, and you get extra spoiled all day which just makes you feel like a rockstar.
Speaking of being a rockstar, am I the only one that didn’t know that 27 is your rockstar year?
My sister informed me of this, which at first I thought she was just trying to cheer me up (I really don’t like getting older) but after some fact checking I realized she is right, 27 is known as your rockstar year.
So lets do this rockstar year!
Before I say hello to 27 and start my rockstar lets talk about how awesome 26 was!
This past year brought some amazing adventures my way, from traveling to settling into my life in Iceland, seeing my blog grow and bring opportunities my way I never though possible and finding my friends that feel like my family, 26 was an awesome year.
A few highlights from the past year:
// I visited my family in Oregon and did the hula in Hawaii with my Viking.
// I took sunny summer adventures around Iceland that just made me love this country even more.
// I explored the colorful streets of Prague.
// I ran the NYC marathon and finally got to visit Washington D.C.
// I enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner with a group friends who feel like family.
// I rang in the new year under one awesome firework show.
// I re-visited the charming canals of Amsterdam and explored the gorgeous country of Slovenia.
// I road tripped around Scotland with my Viking and made memories that I will never get tired of telling.
And…right before my birthday I got some exciting news.
I got accepted for an MBA program here in Iceland!
So, ya, I guess 27 will be a rockstar year. I am going to start my MBA, I have some exciting travels planned, I have a handsome Viking by my side who makes me laugh everyday, and I have the best friends and family who support me no matter what country I am in.
27 and life couldn’t be better.
Now let’s see what kind of epic adventures this rockstar year brings my way!
