It requires you to visit Vestmannaeyjar and cuddle a puffin. As soon as that adorable puffin is in your hand you will forget all about those silly homesick feelings and difficult jet lag problems, guaranteed!
But really how adorable is that puffin??? His name is Tóti and I love him.
Lets back up a bit.
So if you read my last post you know that I had to say goodbye to my family over the weekend and came back to Iceland after spending an amazing month back home. It was rough and I spent the last couple days trying to shake off those lingering feelings of sadness from such a tough goodbye.
Thankfully Iceland has been welcoming me with beautiful weather which has made the transition back to Iceland a tad bit easier. And as if Iceland wanted to remind how much I love this beautiful country it spoiled me with gorgeous sunny weather yesterday for the Viking and I’s trip to Vestmannaeyjar, a chain of small islands off the south coast of Iceland that has been on my bucket list for ages to visit.
Beautiful right!
Vestmannaeyjar more than lived up to my expectations, I took hundreds of pictures of this beautiful island, from holding a puffin to seeing whales, hiking to the highest peak and visiting a volcano museum there is lots to share from our trip, stay tuned!
Now I had it all planned out that I was going to start recapping what in the world I have been up to this summer this week, but when the weather is this nice in Iceland me sitting inside blogging is just not going to happen. Instead I am too busy dancing on mountains and exploring more of my Viking’s homeland before my summer holiday comes to an end next week. Maybe then I will get back into blogging, it depends on the weather.
I hope you all are using every minute of sunshine this summer to get out and explore the area around you! Whether you have lived there your whole life or recently arrived, I guarantee there is something new and amazing to explore in your own backyard. And if all else fails, climb the highest hilltop, mountain, roof, whatever is the tallest, the views are always amazing from above!
Now I am off to see how many more adventures I can convince the Viking to cram into these last few days with me! Must take advantage of the summer weather while I can, you never know when winter will arrive in Iceland!
Question of the Day?
What have you been up to this summer? What is your favorite animal?
