I’m technically the eldest of 4, but my two (half-)brothers aren’t related to each other and my youngest brother is only 7 so the four of us didn’t grow up together.

Passing out in the toilet of an aeroplane is the most terrifying thing I can think of. I don’t even like GOING in there!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

There is a big age difference between my younger brothers and me as well. Ahh I am terrified of those bathrooms now!

  • http://www.lammtothelaughter.com/ Brianne

My favorite color is purple, too! Like the sultry purrrrhhh-ple. Where does your favorite purple fall in the purple spectrum? Haha

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Haha hmm good question, I would say I like the rich purple shade:)

I was talking last night with my husband about you learning Icelandic. I was saying how great it is to read people’s blogs from around the world and see people doing amazing things.

I’m impressed by the marathon running too!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Thanks so much! I agree reading everyone’s amazing stories is so inspiring!

  • http://www.travel-vanberry.blogspot.com/ Van Berry

I can’t stand odd numbers too. From my license plate to the tv volume - EVERYTHING has to be even! :D
But as opposed to you, I suffered from several broken bones when I was younger and even had to go into surgery because of a broken upper arm with 8….I fell off a stupid pony :D

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Ahh odd numbers just drive me mad! When I was a kid I wanted a cast that everyone could sign so bad. Now I am so glad I never had one!

  • Jordan Kovacs

Ah, I love these! I have the same organizational tendencies you do!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Thanks so much. Organization is a good trait to have, at least I think :)

  • http://weiderjl.blogspot.com/ Jenn

Haha I picked our wedding date based on my disdain for odd numbers! We even waited til 2014 because I didn’t want our year to be 2013 … Ok that’s not the main reason but it was a plus!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Haha I think this is a very good reason, a date is important and needs to be on even number days :)

      • http://weiderjl.blogspot.com/ Jenn

Haha I’m glad i’m not the only one and now I feel a little less crazy!

  • http://bristolinmypocket.blogspot.co.uk/ Sara Rose

Fun! I’ve also never broken a bone, and it kind of scares me that it means I will break one in adulthood, when it is way worse. I blush all too easily myself, when I am nervous, embarrassed, excited, angry, whatever emotion. I really wish I could control it!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I know I think the same thing, I really hope I don’t break the never breaking a bone streak anytime soon! Whenever I am super nervous I can just feel my face getting red and wish I could control it as well!

  • http://www.handandtheheart.com/ Andrea Laughery

I turn crazy red when I get embarrassed too! It’s a horrid. I also can’t sleep with doors, closets, or curtains weird, my husband thinks I’m crazy!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Don’t worry your not crazy I can’t sleep with any of those open either!

Yes I am the big sister role model, better not mess up! Ugh I am so glad I have never broken bone but I am terrified I will break one as an adult and it will be terrible.

I love these types of posts! Maybe I’ll do the same one of these days :)

Numbers 1, 7, 12, 14, 16, 21 and 25 are me to a tee! I can’t stand when you go to a zoo and a snake is passed around to touch! They just freak me out sooooo much! Unfortunately, growing up in rural Australia, I have seen my fair share in the wild which isn’t nice!!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Ahh snakes are just so terrifying to me! I would be so nervous to go outside and see them out there! Aren’t costume parties just the best!

  • http://www.lifeinprogress.ca/ Kathy@Vodka and Soda

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

When I was in Italy I was in nutella heaven! Awesome I am jealous of your headstand skills!

  • BlushandBarbells

I’m kind of shocked that you don’t like beer! There are a ton of great micro-breweries in Oregon.

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I know right. I am from a place with such a big beer culture but luck for me we have tons of great winery’s as well and most of the microbreweries have delicious ciders I love.

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I was so bad at the flute as well ha, it was a good thing my career ended early.

  • Lisa @ Ameliorer la Vie

I worked as a barista one summer and it was pretty fun! I’m with ya on the caffeine withdrawal. Every time I sub, I don’t drink coffee and the headache sets in, but that might also be from screaming kids, haha.

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I loved working as a barista such a fun job!

  • ablondearoundtheworld

    1. I suffered that too, I quit drinking coffee. First days were a NIGHTMARE. Now I don’t have coffee-headaches anymore!
    14. Ever tried beer with Fanta? I hate beer as well and love the Feer (or Banta) ahahah :D

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Awesome good for you! I have tried quitting drinking coffee a few times but the headaches are just so painful! Ohh I have never tried a Feer I will have to give it a try.

  • http://www.theartisticbrunette.com/ Megan Thudium

We’re both coffee lovers! Of course, we get along so well. Plus I’m very excited to learn that you played the flute. You should play it again. :)

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I love a good cup of coffee! I think my mom still has the flute so I will have to give it a try when I am home again and see how it goes.

  • Cachoo Joo

First post of yours I read and I feel like I learned a lot … haha! Excellent introductory post :P
My parents almost got me to join 4H too when I was younger - just didn’t have enough time. I was a barista though for a few years, I never grew to love coffee though which people found funny (can make a mean latte tho ;) )

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Awesome so glad you found my blog! I loved working as a barista was so much fun!

  • Jenny P

My first visit to your blog. What a fun post. I completely understand about open doors, drawers and chairs not tucked under the table when the lights go out at the end of the day. Oh dear!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Welcome so glad you stopped by! I am glad I am not the only one, I can’t stand having a bunch of open doors!

  • http://ifsandsandbutts.com/ Alex

Oldest of 5! Oh how I envy your childhood (I’m an only).
