Welcome to Travel Tuesday!
Today I am sharing one of my favorite destinations in Europe: Mykonos, Greece.
After spending two weeks traveling around Italy and France H and I were looking for somewhere to go and relax on the beach. I always dreamed of visiting the Greek islands so we headed over to Greece for the last two weeks of our trip. Mykonos was the first island we visited and it captured me with its charm, beautiful beaches, and friendly locals.
To get to Mykonos we took a ferry from the port Piraeus in Athens. You can easily arrive to the port by bus, metro or cab. Blue Star Ferries was the company we traveled with and it was around €35 for a way one ticket from Athens to Mykonos.
H and I were traveling to Mykonos in September so were able to get some amazing deals on our accommodation since it was the end of the tourism season. We stayed at Mykonos Beach Hotel, which I highly recommend to anyone visiting Mykonos!
Our hotel package (which cost us €183 for 4 nights) included free port pick up and drop off, a daily breakfast buffet which was delicious, and a scooter rental. The location was excellent as well with a beach out front and just a 10 minute walk into the town. I think H and I’s favorite part about our accommodation though, besides the tasty breakfast, was our scooter rental.
I highly recommend renting a scooter. We were able to travel all over the island and explore more then we could have if we relied on the buses. And driving around on a scooter is just a ton of fun!
H and I spent our 4 days on the island visiting the beautiful beaches of Mykonos. They really have a beach for any type of mood you may be in as well. If your looking for a party head over to Super Paradise beach or Paradise beach.

For a quieter beach day visit Paraga beach. Or spend a morning before it gets too hot exploring around the island on your scooter and discovering gorgeous smaller beaches. No matter what beach you chose you will be greeted with beautiful white sand beaches and bright blue water.
After spending our days relaxing on the beach H and I spent most of our evenings wandering the charming small streets of Mykonos.
Browsing the small shops filled with colorful local crafts, enjoying amazing Greek food, even getting lost in the tiny streets, it was all wonderful.
The cherry on top, the beautiful sunsets we could enjoy from our room balcony.
Our time in Mykono’s was amazing and I hope to make it back there again one day!
Question of the Day?
Have you ever been to Mykonos? What is your favorite beach destination to visit?
