Sydney Bridge Walk

When I was living in Sydney I rode the train across the Sydney bridge into downtown every morning. The views you see along the bridge are beautiful, from the Sydney skyline to the Sydney Opera House, I loved those train rides.

I mentioned before my terrifying bridge climb experience where I climbed to the top of the bridge at night!

Sydney Bridge Climb

This experience was amazing but I wanted to take in the views from the Sydney Bridge with my feet on the ground and during the daytime. We headed out one afternoon to walk the pathway across the bridge where there is a photo opt everywhere you look.

Looking back through my pictures I realized I took dozens of photos of the Sydney Opera House. It is so beautiful though I couldn’t help but take a picture from every possible angle!

We did our bridge walk so that we would end on the side where you find my favorite part of Sydney, The Rocks. I love everything about this area, the awesome views of the Sydney skyline, beautiful parks, amazing food, you can always find something going on in The Rocks.

Before headed down from the bridge to enjoy the rest of the day in The Rocks we looked back and took in this view of the Sydney Harbor one last time.

Never will get over that view!

Question of the Day?
Would you do the Sydney Bridge Climb at night? Do you have a place with your favorite views?

I’d rather do the bridge climb at night as you can’t really see how high it is in the dark. During daytime I’d probably totally freak out :D But having this amazing view every day must be awesome! I really really want to visit Sydney one day!

That was why we deicide to go at night as well, I thought it would be a bit easier with my fear of heights and it was.

I love all your pictures, and am uber jealous that you´ve been to such amazing places haha! Sydney is definitely in my bucket list of cities to see, right next to Iceland ;)

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Sydney is such an amazing place, I hope you get to cross it off your bucket list! And Iceland of course :)

You still call it Sydney HARBOR ;) It’s Harbour down under! I LOVE the Opera House, a lot of people say it’s underrated, but I think it’s awesome. I did the bridge climb during the day but would totally do it at night as well!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Ha its my protest in not adapting to the confusing British english :) I think its so beautiful as well, love that area!

  • http://www.rhymeandribbons.com/ Amanda

What a view! Although, I think it’d be something I’d have to do alone because even at night Sam’s fear of heights would probably kick in… x

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

Maybe Sam would be comforted by the high fences all around, just maybe. The views are so worth it though!

The Sydney Opera House is so beautiful… it’s amazing that you got to see it in person - I’d be taking a million pictures of it, too!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I loved getting to see it everyday, was a real treat heading into work with those views.

I don’t think I would do the climb at night, but I would do it. Australia has been on my bucket list for a long time!

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

I had to be talked into doing the climb at night for sure but I am so glad I gave it a go!

Yay! I looooved the bridge climb. We did it a few years ago. My husband is afraid of heights but did it anyway. Then we got stuck at the very top on the narrow pathway connecting the two arches, high above the traffic when a woman in the group ahead of us refused to climb down. We were stuck up there for 20 minutes while a medic climbed up to assist her down. Lol, great memories.

Very cool that you’ve lived in Sydney. It’s lovely there. What a big leap from Oz all the way over to Iceland! :o)

I am terrified of heights but it wasn’t to bad for me when we went. And luckily we didn’t have anyone refusing to climb down keeping me up there even longer! Ha yes, never would have though meeting a boy in Australia would bring me to Iceland :)

  • ablondearoundtheworld

Great shots! I didn’t climb up to the bridge, but I took the ferry to Manly, ending up with 1000 pics of the opera house as well :D

    • http://unlockingkiki.com/ Kaelene Spence

The Sydney Opera House is pretty special!! I totally agree :) when I visited (I actually live over a day’s drive from Sydney in Australia), I stood for hours just taking photos from every angle too. I’m so glad you enjoyed your time in Sydney so much. I’ve only spent four days there and would like to get back one day!

Wow, it’s gorgeous during the day AND at night! Although I think I would be freaked out at night too! I also would have to take millions of pictures of that beautiful building…I always end up with so many photos of the same thing from every angle possible :)

I ended up with so many photos of the same buildings but when they are that beautiful you just can’t help it :)
